Carl Taylor
Chartered Counselling Psychologist
BSc (Hons), MA, Post-MA Dip, PGDip, CPsychol, AFBPsS
Carl is a highly experienced and fully registered Counselling Psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Recognised as a Senior Practitioner in Psychotherapy and an Applied Psychology Practice Supervisor, Carl brings deep clinical training and professionalism to every aspect of his work.
His therapy style is relational and goal-oriented, designed to help individuals build a deeper understanding of themselves and improve the way they relate to others. Carl supports clients in exploring the emotional patterns that often stem from attachment experiences, life events, and relationship dynamics — guiding them toward new perspectives and healthier ways of living.

Understanding Patterns, Creating Change
Carl works with a collaborative and integrative therapeutic approach, combining principles from Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) and Mentalization-Based Therapy (MBT).
Each therapy journey is guided by a tailored formulation — considering life history, personality traits, attachment styles, and coping strategies — to help make sense of present struggles and shape practical paths forward.
Therapy is not just about unpacking the past — it’s about making intentional, sustainable changes in the present.
Carl is especially passionate about helping people navigate complex relationship dynamics, self-worth difficulties, and emotionally ingrained patterns that feel hard to break.

Recognising, Understanding & Changing Unhelpful Patterns
It’s not uncommon to find yourself repeating emotional cycles — becoming stuck in self-doubt, reactive behaviours, or unfulfilling relationships. Often, these patterns develop as coping mechanisms and go unexamined for years.
Therapy offers an opportunity to:
Understand where these patterns came from
Recognise how they’re affecting your present
Learn how to respond differently, with clarity and confidence
Emotional wellbeing isn’t a luxury — it’s essential. By reflecting on the impact of past experiences and shifting how you relate to yourself and others, you can move forward with renewed purpose and emotional strength.
Recognising, Understanding & Breaking Unhelpful Patterns Starts Here
Through psychological therapy, you’ll have the space to reflect deeply, gain new insight, and build healthier ways of thinking, feeling, and relating.
The past may shape you — but it doesn’t have to define your future.
