Education & Training
Carl Taylor is a highly qualified psychologist with extensive training in psychological therapy. He earned his BSc (Hons) in Psychology from Royal Holloway, University of London and later completed a Master’s in Counselling Psychology at Regent’s College. He further specialised with a Post-Master’s Diploma in Existential Counselling Psychology and a Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), achieving CAT supervisor accreditation in 2014. In 2015, he gained accreditation as an MBT Practitioner with the British Psychoanalytic Council after completing clinical training in Mentalization-Based Therapy(MBT).
Clinical Experience
With over two decades of clinical experience, including 14 years in the NHS, Carl has worked across diverse settings, including university psychotherapy services, charitable trusts, and NHS mental health services. Specializing in anxiety, depression, and personality disorders, he played a senior role at the South London and Maudsley NHS Trust (SLaM) as the lead clinician for CAT and MBT services within the Lewisham Integrated Psychological Therapies Team (IPTT).
